Short introduction

My name is Daniel Cambrand and I was born in 1985 in Stockholm, Sweden. Art has always been my greatest passion, and I can’t imagine not working with it. I was first introduced to doing CG in 2008 when I got into Nackademin, where I studied Digital Graphics for 2 years, graduating in June 2010 as a Junior 3D Artist.

After graduation I started Cambrand Designs AB, and I’ve worked with assorted clients, doing 3D and 2D but also newspaper- and online advertising as well.  For less business related info about me, click the Miscellaneous-tab above.

General

With over 4 years of experience, I have worked with both 3D and 2D for numerous companies. My focus lies in modeling, texturing and rendering, but being a generalist, I of course do everything from dynamic simulations to animation.If you are looking for a generalist who can create high end 3D, including environmental- character and packshot artwork, feel free to contact me. On top of 3D, I have produced logotypes and high quality prints for a couple of international companies.

Working as a 3d and 2d artist for a variety of companies. I am also doing newspaper ads and web based graphical content.

  • 2010 – Node Entertainment, internship

During my 6 month internship I was part of the production of  TV commercials, music videos and other graphic content.
Working with lots of different people, it was a tremendous experience learning all about delivering high quality material to clients as well as meeting deadlines.

Education

  • 2008-2010 – Nackademin, Digital Graphics

Digital Graphics prepares students well for the commercial and movie industry. Along with modern CG technology suited for both film and games, I studied sculpting, traditional drawing but also dramaturgy and cinematography.

Applications

I use Autodesk Maya to do my 3D, but if necessary, I will use what’s required if Maya isn’t available. For textures and all 2D I use Photoshop. Below is a summary of the programs I use.

Miscellaneous

This area is intended for other, non-work related hobbies.

I’ve played guitar for some years now and my go-to kind of music is on the Metal/Progressive side. Favourite bands and artists are Dream Theater, Meshuggah, Periphery, Veil of Maya, Freak Kitchen and many others along that line.
